Toyota Worldwide November Production Rises 1.5%

  • Toyota Motor Corp TM posted a 1.5% increase in production for the month of November, to 833,104 units.
  • Worldwide production, including Daihatsu and Hino brands, rose 1.8% to 982,552 units.
  • The company attributed the growth to solid demand, primarily in North America, in addition to a rebound from the impact of parts supply shortages associated with the spread of COVID-19 in Southeast Asia in the previous year.
  • Toyota production in Japan slipped 3.3% to 266,174 units. The auto major exported 164,212 Toyota vehicles, a 1.6% increase Y/Y.
  • Sales for the month of November increased 2.9% to 796,484 units. Total sales, including Daihatsu and Hino, rose 3.7%.
  • Year-to-date, Toyota vehicle production shot up 7% to 8.33 million units.
  • However, Toyota said it is difficult to predict due to semiconductor shortages and COVID-19. 
  • Price Action: TM shares closed higher by 0.10% at $137.14 on Friday.
