Amazon Delivers License Plates Worth $200 To Arkansas Man Who Had Ordered Dog Food — Police Begin Probe

Amazon Inc. AMZN has found itself amid a delivery mishap. In a bizarre incident, a man was delivered license plates in place of dog food.

What Happened: Josh Smith of Jonesboro, a city in Arkansas, had ordered a dog food package from Amazon and received about 65 license plates, reported KAIT.

The Jonesboro police have turned this delivery incident into a full-blown investigation and stated that the license plates delivered to a home on Aberdeen Road are worth around $200.

Why It's Important: This isn't the first time that Amazon has been involved in an incident like this, where something different than the ordered item was delivered.

In November, it was reported that Amazon was working closely with Homeland Security Investigations after Feds suspected that a global narcotics organization was shipping methamphetamine under the guise of decorative stones

The investigators reportedly found five vendor accounts using the e-commerce giant's international shipping services to ship narcotics to different parts of the world.

In 2021, the Indian police department summoned Amazon for an investigation related to the site being allegedly used for smuggling 1,000 kilograms of weeds disguised as dry stevia leaves.
