Microsoft Corporation MSFT CEO Satya Nadella, while sharing the earning results for the latest quarter, hailed the developments in the field of artificial intelligence and the tech giant’s role in “powering it.”
What Happened: Nadella highlighted various examples of Microsoft’s innovation that helped the company’s Cloud exceed $27 billion in quarterly revenue, up by 22% and 29% in constant currency.

Nadella said, “The age of AI is upon us and Microsoft is powering it.” He added that Microsoft is well positioned to become a leader in the AI segment, given that it has “the most powerful AI supercomputing infrastructure in the cloud” which is being “used by customers and partners like OpenAI to train state-of-the-art models and services, including ChatGPT.”
The Microsoft CEO said that just last week the company made its “, we made our “Azure OpenAI service broadly available and already over 200 customers” are using it. Nadella added, “We will soon add support for ChatGPT, enabling customers to use it in their own applications for the first time.”
Why It’s Important: Earlier this week, Microsoft announced that it was investing $10 billion in OpenAI and had become its exclusive cloud provider.
Last week, Alex Valatis, AI and Web3 expert, predicted that in 2023 Microsoft could beat Apple Inc. AAPL, Alphabet Inc. GOOG GOOGL and Meta Platforms Inc. META to become the “sole” big tech leader.
He said this would likely happen because of chatGPT and Microsoft’s diversification in the tech ecosystem.
Previously, it was also reported that the tech giant was working on launching a new version of its search engine, Bing, by using chatGPT and will ultimately challenge the dominance of Google Search.
