Earlier this week, Meta Platforms Inc. META rolled out a subscription service for Facebook and Messenger. While netizens have mixed feelings about this development, not everyone knows what the paid model offers.
What Happened: Benefits of Meta Verified Subscriptions are divided into five categories: Verification, Exclusive Features, Increased Visibility, Proactive Account Protection and Direct Account Support.

Verification: The subscription badge, which a user would only get after providing their government ID, will establish their authenticity.
Exclusive Features: Verified subscribers will be premium users. So, they'll receive exclusive stickers on Facebook and Instagram. Additionally, they'll get 100 Stars a month to help them support their favorite creators.
Increased Visibility: Verified subscribers will get more visibility and prominence in Comments, Search and Recommendations on both platforms.
Proactive Account Protection: Subscribers can secure their accounts with two-factor authentication and get more protection to ensure others can't impersonate them on the platforms.
Direct Account Support: Verified subscribers can connect with humans to resolve common account issues.
Why It's Important: Meta Verified subscription is available in Australia and New Zealand. The feature will soon be expanded to more countries at $11.99 monthly on the web and $14.99 monthly on Apple's iOS and Android platforms (for Facebook).
Interested users can join the waiting list to know when the service will be available in their regions. It is pertinent to note that only users above 18 can avail of this feature.
