Tesla Puts Power In Your Hands: Vote For Spring 2023 Supercharger Venues

Zinger Key Points
  • As Tesla commences voting for Spring Supercharging locations, five places in South Korea have taken early lead.
  • The company now has over 50,000 Supercharger sites world over providing the convenience of charging in 15 minutes.

Tesla Inc TSLA has started its voting process for Spring 2023 Supercharger locations, allowing users to vote for their preferred sites.

CEO Elon Musk first suggested the idea of crowdsourcing opinions for future Superchargers last year at the Cyber Rodeo event.

The program was launched in October, and the winners of the "Winter 2023" poll were announced on Tuesday, alongside the opening of the voting for the Spring 2023 poll.

The Tesla Supercharging network has over 40,000 Superchargers worldwide, allowing recharging in 15 minutes for up to 322 miles of travel. Users with a Tesla account can cast five votes for their preferred location.

How To Vote: To vote, users with a Tesla account can enter the location of their choice in the search box — either on the website or the app — which will bring up the site map. They can then vote for up to five sites. The leaderboard currently has Yeongdeok-gun, South Korea, as the most popular location globally, followed by four other South Korean sites. In North America, Starbase, Texas, and Cherokee, North Carolina are currently leading the polls. Tesla has also opened up its Supercharger network to rival EV manufacturers.

Global Footprint: Tesla Supercharger network is a fast-charging charging network located on major routes and near convenient amenities. In late December, the company disclosed the locations in Europe, North America, Europe, and Asia, which received the most votes, and Tesla announced Supercharger networks for these locations. Users can track Supercharger stall availability through the Tesla app and monitor charging status or set up notifications when charging is complete.
