Boeing Aims To Reach Pre-Crisis 737 MAX Production Rates In 2025: Report

  • Boeing Co BA reportedly expects its 737 MAX jet to return to its 2019 production rate of 52 per month in 2025.
  • The aircraft maker's bestselling jet demand nosedived following two deadly crashes and the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Boeing currently builds 31 737 MAX jets per month, reported Reuters. The company aims to increase monthly MAX production to 38 in June, 42 by January 2024 and 47 by June 2024.
  • After the crash, Boeing cut MAX production to 42, which was further slashed after the pandemic.

  • If realized, the 52 jet rate by January 2025 will help the company to retain a 40% narrow body market share, the report mentioned.
  • "Boeing doesn't really have plans to get beyond 52 (MAXs), nor is it likely to do so. Airbus, yes, they'll get the 75. It's just a question of when, and that's largely because of the strength of the A321neo," the report quoted Richard Aboulafia, an aerospace analyst with AeroDynamic Advisories.
  • Price Action: BA shares are trading higher by 0.24% at $211.28 in premarket on the last check Tuesday.
