Vladimir Putin‘s ally and the Chairman of the Russian State Duma has asked his deputies to order U.S. Ambassador Lynn Tracy to be present in the Russian parliament to discuss biological laboratories in Ukraine.
What Happened: Vyacheslav Volodin asked Tracy to visit State Duma after Victoria Nuland, the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs, did not respond to the invitation sent by the bio laboratories commission, Tass reported.
“This is disrespect for parliament. A country that declares the standards of democracy not only violates them itself but also does everything to ensure that they do not exist. Invite the U.S. ambassador and ask him, let Nuland be responsible for coming here, let her answer to Commission, in front of representatives of the people. They say one thing, but in reality another,” Volodin said.

On April 11, during the plenary session, the State Duma deputies reviewed the conclusive report submitted by the bio laboratories commission, the report added.
The State Duma and the Federation Council, last year in March, decided to initiate a parliamentary investigation into the operations of U.S. bio laboratories in Kyiv.
The country established a joint commission for the investigation that consisted of 14 deputies and 14 senators and was chaired by the Vice Speaker of the State Duma, Irina Yarovaya and Konstantin Kosachev, the Vice Speaker of the Federation Council.
Volodin issued the instructions for the investigation.
Why It Matters: The Russian government has alleged that Ukraine and the U.S. are working together in 30 laboratories with “dangerous infection pathogens.” While The U.S. has refuted claims and called the Russian investigation “total nonsense.” Washington said Putin is inventing false narratives to justify his actions in Ukraine.
