Warren Buffett Is Happier Drinking Coke, Eating Chocolate: He Wouldn't Trade The Diet Of 'A 6-Year-Old' For An Extra Year Of Life

Zinger Key Points
  • Warren Buffett is famous for drinking Coke, eating hot dogs and snacking on chocolate and other junk foods.
  • "I've gotten to 92 with the habits of a six year old. So far it's working," Buffett says.

Warren Buffett is best known as one of the greatest investors of all time, but he's also famous for long maintaining a junk food diet that would make most nutritionists cringe. He turns 93 this year, so he must be doing something right.

What To Know: The Berkshire Hathaway Inc (NYSE: BRK-A) (NYSE: BRK-B) chairman and CEO is well known for drinking a lot of Coca-Cola Co KO products and eating The Hershey Co HSY chocolates and other junk foods

He had a Coke by his side during an interview Wednesday morning on CNBC's "Squawk Box" and noted that he ate a few Hershey's Kisses earlier in the morning.

"I've gotten to 92 with the habits of a 6-year-old. So far it's working," Buffett said with a laugh.

"I found everything I like to eat by the time I was 6. Why should I fool around with all of these other foods?"

A lot of people would say a balanced diet is essential to living a healthy life, but Buffett has defied that sentiment. He told CNBC that happiness probably has a lot to do with it.

The billionaire investor is much happier eating the things that taste good to him. He believes that is probably more important for one's well being and longevity, but he acknowledged that it's difficult to measure. Still, he's been stuck in his ways for a long time and he wouldn't trade his diet for anything, not even time.

"If somebody told me I would live an extra year if I ate nothing but broccoli and a few other things all my life instead of eating what I like to eat, I would say take the year off the end of my life," Buffett said.

"I'm happier when I'm eating hot fudge sundaes or drinking Coke or whatever it may be, hot dogs."
