Dogecoin Co-Founder Says Memes Are 'Most Powerful Thing In Existence' — Elon Musk Chips In

Dogecoin DOGE/USD co-founder Billy Markus — popularly known as Shibetoshi Nakamoto — highlighted the impact of memes, a sentiment that Elon Musk echoed. 

What Happened: On Friday, Markus responded to a user who shared a post about “not one baby” being named “Karen” since Nov. 13, 2019. He said, “Memes are maybe one of the most powerful thing(s) in existence.”

He further said that one can “literally change people’s minds with memes, ” which is an achievement considering “minds are INCREDIBLY hard to change.”

The Twitter CEO shared his sentiment about the importance of memes. 

Why It’s Important: Last week, Musk replaced Twitter’s coveted blue bird logo with the famous Dogecoin meme featuring a Shiba Inu dog.

This step triggered a surge in the meme cryptocurrency’s price, gaining immediate attention from investors and social media users.
