On Sunday, a group that backs Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' potential presidential campaign launched its advertisement criticizing top Republican competitor Donald Trump.
What Happened: The super PAC backing DeSantis, Never Back Down, released the ad titled “Fight Democrats, not Republicans” online and on “Fox News Sunday.”
The fundraising group backing DeSantis raised doubts about the former president’s loyalty to his Republican colleagues.

“Trump should fight Democrats, not lie about Governor DeSantis,” the ad said.
“What happened to Donald Trump?,” it said in reference to Trump’s legal troubles in a New York indictment.
Last year, the former U.S. leader announced his candidacy for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. Trump, who was leading earlier, is now, according to new polls, trailing Florida’s Republican Governor in two key swing states when it comes to beating President Joe Biden.
While it is not just the pro-DeSantis group attacking Trump, the ex-president's super PAC, Make America Great Again, has already attacked the governor in ads. In its latest release on Friday, it referenced a Daily Beast report that on a flight from Tallahassee to Washington in 2019, DeSantis used his fingers to eat chocolate pudding.
“DeSantis has his dirty fingers all over senior entitlements, like cutting Medicare, slashing Social Security, even raising our retirement age,” the ad said.
“Tell Ron DeSantis to keep his pudding fingers off our money.”
