Hackers Leak CommScope's Personal Data On Dark Web

CommScope Holding Company, Inc COMM hackers have leaked the data stolen from the U.S. network infrastructure firm.
Hackers listed CommScope's details on the dark web leak site of the Vice Society ransomware gang, including a link to data stolen from the company, TechCrunch reports.
Ransomware gangs usually leak stolen data when they fail to exact a financial ransom.
Stolen data included internal documents, invoices, technical drawings, and personal data of thousands of CommScope employees, including full names, postal addresses, email addresses, private numbers, Social Security numbers, and bank account information.
Another folder among the leaked data includes scans of employee passports and visa documentation.
The hackers gained deep access to the company's network, exfiltrating data backups about its MyCommScope customer portal and internal intranet. Some data was unencrypted and included CommScope customer and employee email addresses.
CommScope spokesperson Cheryl Przychodni confirmed to TechCrunch that the company detected "unauthorized access to a portion of our IT infrastructure that we determined was the result of a ransomware incident" on March 27.
CommScope launched a forensic investigation under a leading cybersecurity firm and reported the matter to law enforcement.
The Vice Society ransomware gang first made headlines in 2022, targeting the healthcare and education sectors. The team recently turned its attention to the manufacturing industry.
