Entrepreneur Mark Cuban is among the most followed entrepreneurs on Twitter with 8.8 million followers. The investor and NBA team owner recently shared a problem he’s had with Twitter, calling for help from the social media platform and its owner Elon Musk.
What Happened: Mark Cuban took to Twitter recently to share a problem he was having with the social media platform that he thought would see someone other than Musk acquire in 2022.
Cuban is among the people who subscribe to Twitter Blue and pay a monthly subscription to get a blue checkmark and other features.
On April 16, Cuban shared an issue he’s having on Twitter and tagged both Musk and Twitter Support seeking help.
“I have a burner account where I post my thoughts on AI. I want people to give their thoughts on my positions, not on me. I used the burner to reply to an Elon post on ChatGPT. It accepted the post. But it didn’t post. Then I did the same thing with this account. Same thing. It accepted it. Didn’t post it. Anyone else having this problem?” Cuban asked in the tweet, which shared a screenshot of a note.
Cuban later tweeted “test” and then replied that the test post had been accepted.
The entrepreneur and investor didn’t receive a response from Musk or Twitter Support but was offered some answers by followers. One of the common answers was that burner accounts take time and activity to see tweets distributed publicly. Cuban told his followers that his burner account is six years old.
The question posed by Cuban followed the entrepreneur asking for help on his account back in March, which also received no response from Musk.
“I’m losing 500 to 1k users a day. To counter this I went with Blue thinking it gave me some preference and would help retain or grow users. Any suggestions?” Cuban tweeted, tagging Musk and referencing his Twitter Blue subscription.

Why It’s Important: Cuban is no stranger to offering his opinion on Twitter and Elon Musk.
The investor originally predicted that other technology companies could explore acquiring Twitter after Musk’s buyout offer was announced.
Cuban also previously called the decision by Musk to unban the Twitter account of former President Donald Trump a “smart marketing move.”
“Now everyone comes to see what Trump does. Awful for Trump. The pressure is on him to entertain. Tweets hit different as the President vs. now being TFG,” Cuban tweeted, referencing Trump being “the former guy.”
At the time of the unbanning of Trump’s account, Cuban suggested the move could be more important in generating subscriber revenue from Twitter Blue versus the risk of upsetting advertisers.
“According to Elon that ship has already sailed. Maybe he thinks Trump will sell more $8 checks (it won’t). Or he just wants to show record user growth to investors and find a different way to monetize it?” Cuban suggested.
Musk has put a heavy emphasis on Twitter Blue and made it so that subscribers of the service are the only ones who will be listed in the “For You’ section and be able to participate in polls.
Upsetting celebrities on Twitter is nothing new as many have voiced displeasure in Twitter Blue and also the unbanning of Trump.
With a large follower base, Cuban’s voice could play out more than others, but so far Musk hasn’t noticed.
