Options Traders See CBOE Volatility Index Rising Sharply By June Expiration

The CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) has dropped to its lowest level since November 2021.

On CNBC’s "Options Action," Kris Sidial, The Ambrus Group co-CIO, said there was a buyer of 94,000 of the June 26-calls at an average price of $1.71 per contract for VIX.

What Is The CBOE Volatility Index?

The CBOE Volatility Index, popularly known as VIX, is a measure of the equity market's expectation of volatility based on S&P 500 index call and put options.

Price Action: The Chicago Board Options Exchange's CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) fell 2.2% to 16.46 on Wednesday.
