Previously, Snap Map permitted sharing of live locations with friends and family for a limited duration, but the new update allows indefinite, background live location sharing.

In addition, Snap Map is introducing fresh 3D components for its map interface, improving recommendations for exploring places and providing more customization options for Bitmoji avatars.

Why It’s Important: For Apple users seeking an easy way to share their live location with other Apple users, the Find My platform is an excellent option with the added benefit of functioning without an internet connection.

The app’s Family Sharing feature provides a comprehensive view of all Apple devices and their locations on the map.

Moreover, it comes in handy for locating lost iPhones, tracking switched-off devices and offering unique location-based alerts.
