Summer Take Off? JetBlue Plans Two New Routes From Puerto Rico

  • JetBlue Airways Corporation JBLU is launching two new routes from Puerto Rico, bringing more low-fare flights.
  • Starting this summer, JetBlue will now offer year-round service from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) in North Carolina, and from Rafael Hernández International Airport (BQN) in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico to Tampa International Airport (TPA) in Florida.
  • "This growth will increase competition and choice for customers traveling to and from Puerto Rico and for travelers in Raleigh and Tampa, while also building on our commitment to support tourism on the island and connect family and friends,” said CEO Robin Hayes.
  • In Puerto Rico, JetBlue currently operates an average of 35 departures per day.
  • With the introduction of Raleigh, JetBlue will now offer service between Puerto Rico and 12 cities in the U.S. and the Caribbean.
  • For a limited time, seats are out for sale today, with fares as low as $99.
  • Price Action: JBLU shares are trading lower by 2.79% at $6.80 on the last check Thursday.
