Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson would make a "good addition" to the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
What Happened: Ramaswamy said that he believes Carlson throwing his name in the GOP candidacy hat will be "good for the country." Ramaswamy said this during an interview with Politico published on Monday.
"I think he'd be a good addition to the race," Ramaswamy said, adding, "I think someone should only do this if they feel called to do it, but I think it'd be good for the country if he got in, to be honest with you."

Ramaswamy called Carlson "one of the smartest voices in the conservative movement." He also applauded Carlson's ability to "defect from party orthodoxy when necessary."
"There's definitely a thought leadership vacuum in political media, across the political spectrum. And Tucker was one of the great political thinkers and commentators of our time," Ramaswamy told the publication.
Ramaswamy's comments came hours after Fox News and Carlson agreed to part ways. The media company's abrupt announcement comes amidst the fallout from the network’s recent $787.5 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems over false allegations of fraud related to the 2020 election.
