Surprise Sighting: Tesla Cybertruck Ventures Beyond California For Test Run

Tesla Inc‘s TSLA Cybertruck, one of the most hotly anticipated EVs, is reportedly being tested on Texas roads.

What Happened: A video shared by Twitter user Dennis B shows the Cybertruck passing by a Honda vehicle on the roads of Texas.

“Maybe the first sighting on public roads outside of California?” wrote Dennis.

This is indeed the first time the Cybertruck has been sighted in Texas, reported Teslarati. Previous sightings were in California, and mostly in the Northern portion of the state near Tesla’s former headquarters, the report added.

Why It Matters: The Cybertruck was first unveiled in 2019 and is expected to start production later this year. Meanwhile, last week, Tesla CEO Elon Musk arrived on a Cybertruck prototype at the groundbreaking ceremony of Tesla’s new lithium refinery.

Gigafactory Texas, spread across 2500 acres is the future home of Cybertruck, according to the Tesla website.

Last month, Musk said that he walked the whole Cybertruck production line at the Gigafactory. “…Gonna be awesome,” Musk wrote. “Feels like the future.”

The CEO had also said that the Cybertruck will change the look of the roads.
