Watch: YouTuber Strips Down Tesla Model 3 To Find Its Breaking Point

A new Tesla owner and YouTuber dismembered a Model 3 in an attempt to revamp it as a different car.

What Happened: In a new video published on the YouTube channel B is for Build, Chris Steinbacher guts a Tesla Model 3 starting with its frunk and doors, to its seats, seatbelts, and bumpers.

“We are going to unbolt every other thing that has a bolt,” says Chris as he embarks on the journey of mutilation to figure out how many parts he can remove before the car stops working.

In the next episode, the YouTuber will run a speed test on the vehicle to see how fast it is without a body and attempt to body-swap the car.

The YouTuber said that he will also attempt to retain the $15,000 autopilot in the Model 3 post-body-swap. “If you ask me to bet on it right now, I don’t think it’s possible. But I’ll try,” he said.

“B is for Build” has 1.62 million subscribers on YouTube. Two weeks ago, the channel posted another video highlighting a safety issue in the Tesla wherein if the battery system in the front of the car were to be damaged in an accident, those in the backseats would not be able to exit the car as their doors would not open.
