VinFast Recalls 999 Of Its First SUVs To US Over Software Issue

  • Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has recalled 999 of its sports utility vehicles (SUV) that were shipped to the U.S.

  • The company said only 111 vehicles that's being recalled are in customer hands.
  • VinFast's fist bunch of vehicles to be sold in the U.S. did not go well with the customers.
  • It has been six months since the first batch were shipped to California, with the second batch being shipped in April.
  • "We are new players and of course we will have issues," the report quoted CEO Le Thi Thu Thuy.
  • VinFast plans to send its first vehicles to Europe in July and is considering building a factory in North Carolina.
