Republican Presidential candidate Tim Scott on Thursday warned that the Democrats could "weaponize" a divided GOP.
What Happened: Scott said Joe Biden's Democratic Party could use Republican primary candidates' words against each other as they campaign for the 2024 U.S. presidential elections.
"I think the road to socialism runs right through a divided Republican Party," Scott told Fox News.
"Everything we say about each other, the Democrats will weaponize against all of us, no matter who the nominee is," he added.
Why It Matters: Last week, the South Carolina senator Scott joined the already crowded Republican primary race for the 2024 presidential election, which includes many notable figures, including former President Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and Nikki Haley.

Trump has launched a series of attacks on DeSantis, despite the fact that the Florida governor has consistently polled as a strong contender against the ex-president. Following Scott’s announcement, Trump said the South Carolina senator is "a big step up" compared to DeSantis, whom he described as “totally unelectable.”
Meanwhile, DeSantis criticized Trump on Thursday, accusing him of handing over control to Dr. Anthony Fauci during the COVID-19 crisis and destroying “millions of lives.”
