- Walmart Inc WMT said the retailer remained dedicated to retaining its Pride Month Offerings despite the backlash, an executive of the retail giant said.
- The statement comes after Target Corp’s TGT decision to remove some products from its Pride Collection after facing customer backlash.
- Target took some items from its collection for Pride Month honoring gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people off the shelf in June, reported Bloomberg.
- Target said it was afraid for the safety of its employees’ following threats from some customers.
- “We have merchandise that we sell all year that supports different groups,” said Chief Merchandising Officer of Walmart, Latriece Watkins.
- “In this particular case, we haven’t changed anything in our assortment.”
- Price Target: WMT shares are trading lower by 0.33% at $146.39 in premarket on the last check Thursday.
