Donald Trump was indicted on seven counts in the classified documents probe, marking the first time a former president is facing federal charges.

Mary Trump, the ex-president's niece said she is “gratified” by the development.

Donald Trump Vs. Hillary Clinton: Following the reports of the indictment, Mary Trump said on Twitter, "My feelings are complicated–hopefully, this is the beginning of holding Donald [Trump] accountable for his crimes against America.

“But it’s going to get worse before it gets better.”

In a separate tweet, she shared a picture of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who unsuccessfully ran against Donald Trump in 2016.

Republicans then used the controversy surrounding Clinton's usage her private email server, rather than federal servers, for communicating during her tenure as the Secretary of State to attack her.

Mary Trump captioned the image, "For those of you keeping score at home: ZERO indictments / ZERO counts," potentially to contrast with Donald Trump, who has been indicted on several counts.

“”The email lady,’ as Jeff Tiedrich refers to Hillary Clinton, was right about everything. And here we are: Donald Trump has been indicted again, for the second time in less than two months,” Mary Trump said in her substack newsletter.

Trump Can't be Ignored: The Republican party that failed to stop him in 2016 continues to support, enable and cover for him and consequently, barring unforeseen circumstances, he will be the party's nominee for the 2024 election, Mary Trump wrote in her substack newsletter.

“And we still can't ignore him,” she said.

Donald Trump is a “significant and malign force in American politics,” Mary Trump said. Although the former president lacks skill or intelligence, he rose to “ridiculous levels of wealth and fame,” partly aided by his father's support, she said.

Mary Trump suggested that Donald Trump capitalized on America's brokenness, and the country remaining mired in racism, misogyny and hatred. Thus, he became the leader of a free world, and when he was in power he tried to destroy the Western alliance to appease brutal dictators, she added.

The psychologist also blamed her uncle and his failed policies for the death of hundreds of thousands of Americans. She was referring to the COVID-19 deaths and said Donald Trump willfully did it for his own political gains. The former president also destroyed the economy and brought American democracy to the brink with his big lies, she added."

“There is nothing he won't do to get away with his crimes. He will turn his followers against the rest of us, he will threaten to destroy the Republican Party if it doesn't do his bidding (and it will do his bidding),”Mary Trump said.

“If none of that works, he will burn it all down.”
