Trump 'Terrified In A Way That He Hasn't Been,' Says His Niece Ahead Of Miami Arraignment: 'Lives His Life In Fear'

On the eve of Donald Trump's appearance before the Miami federal court, his niece Mary Trump, a psychologist by profession, offered some insights into what could be going on in his mind.

What Happened: Donald Trump may not allow himself to believe that he might be arrested, Mary Trump said in an interview with MSNBC. “It is literally beyond him to imagine a situation in which he would be held accountable to such as degree that he would lose freedom,” she said.

If he could comprehend that this was a viable possibility, he would be terrified in a way that he hasn't been, the psychologist said.

“Donald [Trump] lives his life in fear. He just does everything in his power to cover the fear over with anger most often, and sometimes that blend of arrogance and self-aggrandizement that we often see him traffic in,” she added.

Mary Trump also delved into why her uncle has stopped referring to evidence pertaining to the document case ever since his indictment. “He is incredibly good at adapting to the current situation,” she said, adding that if something isn't working, he stops doing it.

The podcaster who hosts the “Mary Trump Show” also said her uncle will try everything in his power and then when he realizes it isn't working, he will change tactics.

Mary Trump said her uncle could be thinking that talking about the evidence is acknowledging the fact and the evidence, which is mostly his words and his actions that have been recorded and reported by the people or got him in trouble.

Commenting on Donald Trump's campaign speech over the weekend in which he suggested that his support base is being targeted and not him, Mary Trump said he has told enough people or appealed to enough people for them to believe that was true.

There is no evidence he would put a hair out of place in order to save anybody from any kind of harm, Mary Trump said.

“What he is saying to them is that they are coming after him. So, they need to put their bodies in way of that.”

What's Next: Donald Trump is widely expected to surrender to authorities Tuesday just as he did in the Manhattan district attorney case in early April. He will likely be arraigned at the Miami court in connection with the Justice Department's Mar-a-Lago document case.

Law enforcement authorities do not rule out unrest as pro and anti-Trump demonstrators have made plans to rally around the courthouse, the Wall Street Journal reported.
