Why Dragonfly Energy Shares Are Gaining Today

Dragonfly Energy Holdings Corp DFLI will be awarded a new U.S. patent addressing the streamlined production of conventional Li-ion ion batteries and nonflammable solid-state lithium batteries in the U.S.

The company is to be granted a new U.S. patent based on allowed U.S. Patent Application No. 16/329/914 by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

The patent is for the "preparation and powder film deposition of pre-coated powders."

The patent is expected to pave the way for Dragonfly Energy to bring nonflammable LiFePO4 storage batteries to market.

Solvent-free cell production is known to have a significant cost advantage over traditional slurry coating, and the company has successfully applied the process to various battery chemistries.

The new patent enables Dragonfly Energy to use a powder-coating process that eliminates the need for large drying rooms, making the process highly scalable within a reduced footprint. It allows for increased production in a reduced time frame and at a lower cost.

Price Action: DFLI shares are trading higher by 18.16% at $3.02 on the last check Thursday.
