The first leaked renders of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.'s SSNLF upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5 are now out, giving us a first glimpse at the company's next-generation foldable smartphone.
What Happened: The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is Samsung's next foldable smartphone, all set to launch at the company's Galaxy Unpacked event in Seoul, South Korea, in late July. Now, the first leaked renders of the Z Flip 5 are out at MySmartPrice, giving us a glimpse at the large outer display of the flip phone.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 will launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 5. It is expected to feature a larger 3.4-inch screen on the outside. Its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 4, has a much smaller 1.9-inch screen, rendering it useful for nothing except notifications.
The leaked renders also give a glimpse at the dual camera setup above the display. These dual cameras will also likely be useful for clicking higher resolution selfies compared to the usual front cameras – Samsung could also enable the camera app to run on the outer display, just like it allows on the Galaxy Fold smartphones.
Making The Flip More Useful: Samsung has also teamed up with Alphabet Inc.'s GOOGL Google to offer customized Google applications on the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
These specially customized applications will allow users to run them on the outer display without having to flip open the larger display on the inside.
Apart from making it quick and easy to use these apps, this will also help users reduce the number of times they flip open the phone, extending the life of the inner foldable display.
