Misplaced Your Apple Watch? Locate It Easily With This iOS 17 Feature

It is quite easy to misplace wearables like earbuds and smartwatches, but Apple Inc. AAPL now has a nifty solution that works out of the box. With the iOS 17 update, Apple has made locating a misplaced Apple Watch easier.

What Is This About: Locating a misplaced Apple Watch is now easier with the iOS 17 update that was announced at the WWDC 2023 event. The update is still in beta, with the final release expected in September alongside the iPhone 15 series.

For this feature to be useful, your Apple Watch must be in the Bluetooth range, approximately 30 feet (10 meters).

If your Apple Watch is further away, you might want to use the Find My app instead.

How To Locate Apple Watch In iOS 17

Your iPhone must be on the latest iOS 17 beta update to enable this feature. Follow these steps to locate your Apple Watch from the Control Center in iOS 17:

  • Open the Settings app and scroll down to the Control Center.
  • Now scroll down and add the ‘Ping My Watch' option.
  • Now tap on the ‘Ping My Watch' tile – your paired Apple Watch will now start ringing.

The beeps stop once you pick up the Apple Watch and look at it.
