JP Morgan Chase & Co JPM anointed Teresa Heitsenrether as head of a new data and analytics unit under its critical artificial intelligence push.
The appointment is effective immediately, Bloomberg cites an internal memo Wednesday from CEO Jamie Dimon and President Daniel Pinto.
Heitsenrether, who has been at JPMorgan for over 30 years, will continue to report to Pinto.
Dimon and Pinto emphasized leveraging AI technologies effectively and responsibly to develop new products, drive customer engagement, improve productivity, and prioritize risk management.
JPMorgan is at the forefront of a massive industrywide push into AI that advertised for over 3,500 related roles between February and April.
Heitsenrether previously headed JPMorgan’s securities-services unit.
Tim Fitzgerald will succeed her atop that business, which will become part of an expanded markets and securities-services group under Troy Rohrbaugh and Marc Badrichani. Fitzgerald was previously the global head of custody and fund services.
Price Action: JPM shares traded lower by 0.22% at $142.00 premarket on the last check Thursday.
