Suncor Energy Suffers Cybersecurity Breach, Customer and Supplier Transactions Likely Affected

Suncor Energy Inc SU said it experienced a cybersecurity incident on Sunday.

The energy firm expected the incident to impact some transactions with customers and suppliers, Reuters reports.

Suncor was unaware of evidence that customer, supplier, or employee data had been compromised or misused due to the incident.

While it worked to contain the situation, it may impact some transactions with customers and suppliers.

Suncor's operations include oil sands development, production, offshore oil and gas, and petroleum refining in Canada and the U.S., including Petro Canada retail and wholesale distribution networks.

Price Action: SU shares traded higher by 1.62% at $28.99 on the last check Monday.
