Donald Trump's Top Immigration Advisor Reportedly Pushed To Blow Up Migrant Boats With Drones, New Book Reveals

One of Donald Trump's top immigration advisers, Stephen Miller, reportedly advocated using U.S. predator drones in 2018 to destroy migrant boats carrying unarmed civilians.

What Happened: According to an upcoming book by a former appointee of the Trump Department of Homeland Security, Miles Taylor recounts a conversation from April 2018 where Miller purportedly supported an assault on a migrant ship en route to the U.S., Rolling Stone reported, citing a passage from it.

Taylor revealed that Miller contended that civilians aboard the migrant ship were not entitled to protection under the U.S. Constitution due to their presence in international waters.

The report added that the publication examined written Trump-era administration documentation confirming Taylor’s assertion. However, his account is disputed by both Miller and another individual who was present during the conversation.

"This is a complete fiction that exists only in the mind of Miles Taylor, desperate to stay relevant by fabricating material for his new book," Miller’s spokesman told the publication.

Why It Matters: Taylor, the author of the infamous “Anonymous” New York Times op-ed, once triggered a relentless hunt for the unidentified critic within the Trump administration. He later showed his support for Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election and eventually revealed himself as the person behind the “Anonymous” pseudo name.

Meanwhile, the other person, Paul Zukunft, with whom Miller was said to be discussing the scenario, confirmed "a lengthy conversation with Stephen Miller regarding Southwest border security in 2018." But said "no recollection" of the exchange as described in the book.
