U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has called for an investigation into PRIME, a popular energy drink created by YouTube stars Logan Paul and KSI. Schumer expressed concerns over the drink’s high caffeine content and its marketing towards children, Reuters reports.
High Caffeine Content
PRIME Energy contains 200 milligrams of caffeine per 12 ounces, equivalent to nearly two cans of Red Bull. Schumer stated, “This is an eye-popping level of caffeine for a young kid’s body.”
“Buyer and parents beware because it's a serious health concern for the kids it so feverishly targets,” Schumer said at a press conference.

Marketing Concerns
Schumer also raised concerns about the packaging and marketing of PRIME’s two drinks, one being highly caffeinated and the other a non-caffeinated hydration drink. He stated that due to the similar packaging, parents might unknowingly buy the caffeinated version for their children.
