Ron DeSantis Alleges 'Collusion' Between Team Trump And Big Tech In Hunter Biden Story: 'I Would Fire Those People Immediately'

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Sunday accused the federal agencies under the Trump administration of "colluding" with Big Tech to suppress the Hunter Biden story in 2020.

What Happened: DeSantis, in an interview on Fox News's "Sunday Morning Futures," criticized former President Donald Trump for failing to take action against those implicated in the alleged collusion during his time in the top office.

"I look back at the Hunter Biden censorship, which was a huge, huge deal to happen in the 2020 election, and yet those were Donald Trump's own agencies that were colluding with Big Tech. I would never allow that to happen. I would fire those people immediately," DeSantis said.

Republicans have voiced apprehensions regarding alleged collusion between the FBI and social media giants to suppress conservative perspectives. GOP has specifically highlighted Twitter’s initial actions in 2020, where they restricted the dissemination of a story involving Hunter Biden’s laptop contents. While Twitter executives have acknowledged potential flaws in their initial decision, they vehemently deny any Democratic involvement in shaping their actions.

DeSantis, known for his strong stance against Big Tech in Florida, said, "We will end the weaponization of government. And that's, of course, a new FBI director on day one."

Despite trailing in recent primary polls behind Trump, DeSantis maintains that he is a more disciplined and results-oriented alternative to the former president.

Meanwhile, DeSantis also brushed off the early hurdles in the presidential campaign, saying, "These are narratives.”
