The iPhone 15 Pro Max May Burn A Bigger Hole In Your Pocket Because Of This New Camera Feature

Apple Inc.'s AAPL upcoming iPhone 15 series will come with a price shock. The top-tier iPhone 15 Pro Max will burn a bigger hole in your pocket as it's planning to add a new periscopic lens to the camera debuting in its next flagship smartphone.

What Happened: Apple is said to launch the iPhone 15 Pro Max at a slightly higher base price when compared to its predecessor, according to Haitong International Securities' tech analyst Jeff Pu.

Pu underlined that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be priced higher than the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which starts at $1,099. This will be the first price hike for Apple's top-end ‘Pro Max' branded iPhone since it was first introduced in 2018 – the base variant of the iPhone XS Max was also launched at $1,099.

Apple has since then retained the starting price of the ‘Pro Max' iPhone at $1,099, but this year could be different. While Pu does not mention the new starting price, some rumors suggest that Apple could hike the price by $200. This would mean that the iPhone 15 Pro Max could start at $1,299.

iPhone 15 Pro Max Features: What To Expect?

The headline addition to the iPhone 15 Pro Max could be a new periscope lens. The upcoming iPhone flagship is expected to feature a triple camera setup on the back with a the new lens system.

Using a periscope lens system would allow Apple to achieve superior lossless zoom at levels like 5x or higher when compared to a traditional system.

The iPhone 15 series is expected to feature a USB Type-C port, Dynamic Island, and an improved modem from Qualcomm, among other things.
