Along with dominating the electric vehicle sector, Tesla Inc TSLA continues to rank among the most talked about automotive brands overall and ranks high among interest at used car dealerships.
A new study shows that Tesla dominates the Google Search rankings as well.
What Happened: Recent revelations show that Tesla vehicles were the most sought-after used EV models, and the company holds three spots within the top six best-selling electric vehicle models at Carvana.
Along with the strong showing for electric vehicles at used car dealerships, Tesla ranks ahead of traditional automotive companies when it comes to searches on Google.
A new study from AutoTrader reveals that Tesla is the most searched automotive brand worldwide and in the United States.
The study looked at Google search history for 180 countries and searched 203 different automotive manufacturers using the “buy + (car brand)” as a search entry.
Worldwide, Tesla led the way, ranking as the most googled brand based on searches for cars for sale in 39 countries, including the United States and Canada. Here are the top five based on overall searches:
1. Tesla: #1 in 39 countries
2. Jeep, a Stellantis STLA brand: #1 in 27 countries
3. BMW BMWYY: #1 in 20 countries
4. Toyota TM: #1 in three countries
5. Mercedes Benz MBGYY: #1 in 11 countries

United States Rankings: Along with dominating the overall global rankings based on searches on Google for buying a vehicle, Tesla also came in first place in the United States, where it ranked first in 25 of the 50 states.
Trailing Tesla were Jeep (21), Toyota (3) and Land Rover (1).

Along with ranking first in 25 of the 50 states, Tesla also ranks first in seven of the 10 most populous states.
