The Butterfly House, a unique architectural marvel in Carmel, California, has been sold for $29 million, marking one of the highest transactions in the region, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Details of the Transaction: The previous owners, venture capitalist Kevin Comolli and his wife, Hannah Comolli, bought the property for $16.5 million in 2014.

“The home fits so beautifully in with nature, its balance and longevity changed our lives for the better,” Kevin said. The buyer’s identity remains undisclosed.

The Butterfly House: Designed by architect Frank Wynkoop in the early 1950s, the Butterfly House is named for its wing-shaped roof. The property, located on Carmel Point, overlooks the ocean and includes a private beach with a swimming cove. The house spans about 3,700 square feet, featuring three bedrooms, an office, a media room, and an interior courtyard with a pool and hot tub.
