Unity Software Inc U shares are trading higher. The company launched a beta program for visionOS Wednesday morning.
What To Know: Unity shares surged last month after the company announced a collaboration with Apple Inc AAPL for the Vision Pro headset.
Wednesday morning, Unity said it launched the beta program for the Apple Vision Pro operating system, which includes access to Unity PolySpatial. Creators can now start building experiences that run in visionOS through integration with the Unity editor.
"Unity has worked closely with Apple to offer support for visionOS and PolySpatial, so users can experience their favorite Unity apps on day one in all new spatial environments made possible by Apple Vision Pro," the company said.
Unity highlighted new authoring workflows, which make blending content with the physical world more intuitive. Tools for input will provide natural ways for users to control their content with just their eyes and hands on Vision Pro.
"Unity-based apps and games run natively on Apple Vision Pro, so they have access to groundbreaking visionOS features including low latency pass-through and high-resolution rendering. This enables Unity developers to take full advantage of the powerful and unique capabilities of Apple Vision Pro," said Mike Rockwell, vice president of Apple's Vision Products Group.
