Biden Says Marjorie Taylor Greene 'Endorsed' Him After GOP Lawmaker's Botched Attempt To Roast President Went Viral

Joe Biden took another jab at Marjorie Taylor Greene, claiming that she endorsed him after a campaign video quickly gained over 40M views within a week.

President Joe Biden took another jab at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Thursday, claiming that she endorsed him after a campaign video quickly gained over 40 million views within a week.

What Happened: Greene’s attempts to critique Biden’s policies by comparing them to those of Presidents Franklin Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson earlier this week backfired, with the White House taking her comments as a compliment.

The video, which was a compilation of Greene’s speech, reached more than 30 million views within 12 hours.

Biden said in Philadelphia, referring to Greene's comments in the video, said "As you may have seen — apparently 40 million people watched — Marjorie Taylor Greene, the very conservative gentlelady from the state of Georgia, said Biden is doing things like Roosevelt. And, it goes down the line, and created these jobs, and he thinks that — I thought that was, I never had an endorsement from her before," The Hill reported.

During his remarks, the president also criticized Republicans, particularly those who voiced support for projects in their districts after voting against the bills that provided the funding.

He highlighted the federal public safety grants that the area would receive through the American Rescue Plan, a bill that Greene and all other House Republicans voted against in March 2021.

Why It Matters: Greene has been a vocal critic of Biden's policies, previously clashing with the president over his economic agenda.

Last month also, the White House and Greene clashed after a local newspaper from the GOP lawmaker’s hometown highlighted the federal public safety grants that her district was slated to receive under the American Rescue Plan.

However, Greene, along with every other House Republican, voted against the plan in March 2021.
