Elon Musk has apparently bid farewell to his “Chief Twit” title, leaving netizens wondering what new moniker he might adopt next.
What Happened: Amid recent allusions made by Musk to significantly change Twitter’s iconic bird logo and the site’s rebranding to X.com, users worldwide have questions about what will be the tech billionaire’s new title.
The speculation commenced when DogeDesigner, a graphic designer affiliated with Dogecoin DOGE/USD, asked, “What will be Elon Musk’s new title instead of ‘Chief Twit’?”
To this, Musk responded with his trademark air of mystery, “Chief Nothing Officer.”
In another tweet, a Twitter user inquired whether the platform’s users would now be called “Xers.” In his characteristically cryptic manner, the tech mogul replied, “We will have no name.”
Why It’s Important: Before acquiring Twitter in October 2022, Musk had hinted at the app ‘X’ as an ambitious “everything app” linked to the $44 billion deal.
On Sunday, Musk said that the iconic bird logo of Twitter would be changed and teased his millions of followers on the platform with a flickering “X” logo. Later in a Twitter Spaces conversation, he confirmed the same.
Musk changed his bio last year before acquiring the social media platform to read “Chief Twit.” At the time, it was speculated that the eccentric entrepreneur would appoint himself as interim CEO.
As per the speculations, Musk stayed CEO of the microblogging site until June this year, when Linda Yaccarino succeeded him as the company’s chief executive.
