Chris Christie Criticizes Ron DeSantis Over Slavery Curriculum Response: 'I Didn't Do It...Not The Words Of Leadership'

In a recent interview with CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Chris Christie, GOP presidential candidate and former governor of New Jersey, criticized fellow Presidential candidate and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for his response to the new slavery curriculum in Florida, The Hill reports.

Christie’s Critique: Christie took issue with DeSantis’s reaction to Vice President Kamala Harris‘ characterization of Florida’s new Black history education standards as “propaganda.”

The standards, based on a controversial Florida law, require that race be taught in an “objective” manner.

Christie said, “‘I didn’t do it’ and ‘I’m not involved in it’ are not the words of leadership.”

Political Manipulation: Christie further accused DeSantis of not taking responsibility of the controversial bill.

“Governor DeSantis started this fire with the bill that he signed and now he doesn’t want to take responsibility for whatever is done in the aftermath of it, and from listening and watching his comments, he's obviously uncomfortable” Christie stated.

Christie warned that such actions are dividing the country and creating conflict. He urged politicians to focus on larger issues like inflation and education.
