Former President Donald Trump‘s son-in-law, Jared Kushner‘s uncle and aunt, Murray and Lee Kushner, made maximum contributions to the 2024 presidential bid of Chris Christie.
What Happened: The couple donated $6,600 to Christie’s campaign, according to Federal Election Commission filings.
The donation comes amid the longstanding feud between Jared and Christie, stemming from the latter’s role in prosecuting Jared’s father, Charles Kushner, for tax evasion and fraud.
Christie, a former governor and former U.S. Attorney for the Garden State, has stood by his handling of the case, once stating, “I just think that it was so obvious he had to be prosecuted.”

Amid Charles Kushner’s prosecution, Christie’s relationship with Jared faced strain. Yet, Murray and Lee still backed Christie’s presidential campaign due to their own icy rapport with Charles regarding disagreements on crucial business choices.
Murray and his wife donated a maximum of $6,600 to Christie’s campaign, contributing $3,300 each.
Why It Matters: In his book, “Let Me Finish,” Christie attributed the hindrance in securing a role as Trump’s vice president in 2016 or attorney general to Jared Kushner.
Christie has been positioning himself as a strong critic of Trump, warning against the former president’s return to the White House.
He also previously accused Jared Kushner of withholding details in his testimony to the grand jury investigating the former president.
