U.S. stocks traded mixed, with the Dow Jones gaining around 50 points on Wednesday. Here are some big stocks recording gains in today’s session.

  • Silicon Motion Technology Corporation SIMO shares surged 78.9% to $93.40 following a report suggesting China approval of the company's Maxlinear merger.
  • Vicor Corporation VICR shares gained 48.3% to $88.12 after the company posted better-than-expected second-quarter results.
  • PacWest Bancorp PACW shares rose 25.6% to $9.66 after the company announced a merger with Banc of California. PacWest Bancorp also reported upbeat quarterly earnings.
  • Teladoc Health, Inc. TDOC gained 25.7% to $28.65 following better-than-expected quarterly results.
