Former Yandex CEO, Arkady Volozh, condemns Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in a statement, reports BBC.
Volozh, who left Russian search engine site Yandex last year after facing sanctions from the European Union, has criticized Russia’s actions in Ukraine.
“Although I moved to Israel in 2014, I have to take my share of responsibility for the country’s actions,” he stated. He further added, “I am against the war.”
The billionaire, who lives in Israel, was previously accused of “supporting actions or policies which undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence of Ukraine.”
Additionally, the EU claimed that Yandex promoted Russian state media narratives and suppressed content critical of the Kremlin, especially concerning Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
