Analyst Bets On Apple Watch's X Redesign: 'Will Add Material Value'

Evercore ISI analyst Amit Daryanani expressed his hope for the new redesign of the Apple Watch AAPL stating that it will “add material value” to the series, Barron’s reports.

Apple is gearing up for a significant redesign in the upcoming Series X of the watch, which Bloomberg reported will follow the Series 9 lineup scheduled for this September. The new iteration in the X Series will boast fresh updates and features anticipated to fuel demand.

Daryanani, bullish on Apple with a $210 price target, stated, “The Watch X is set to be the first major redesign in the device's history and we believe that not only will it be a major-enough redesign for older users to consider upgrading but also incrementally valuable in convincing users to switch from competitor models.”

Among the expected design alterations are a slimmer case, revamped band attachments and the introduction of blood-pressure monitoring tech. Apple has yet to comment on these speculations.

Daryanani emphasized the potential of the blood pressure feature, noting its convenience compared to standalone monitors. He believes this addition could attract hypertension patients and even pave the way for insurance firms to subsidize the watch.

For the third quarter, Apple’s wearables, including watches, contributed $8.28 billion to the company’s $81.8 billion total revenue.
