The Boring Company founder Elon Musk is positive that tunnels will resolve traffic in Los Angeles.
What Happened: “Tunnels will solve,” Musk wrote. The Tesla, SpaceX CEO was responding to an X.com user who noted the ‘horrible’ traffic in Los Angeles.
“Almost feels like half your life your in a car just getting from one place to the next. Can't wait for the @boringcompany to solve this issue,” the user wrote. They also shared a nearly 50-second video showing traffic stretching for miles.
Boring Company tunnels are already solving traffic in Vegas, Musk said.
Why It Matters: The Boring Company aims to solve traffic with underground tunnel systems or loops that enable rapid point-to-point transportation. It has currently completed three projects- the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) loop, the Hyperloop Test Track, and the R&D Tunnel in Hawthorne.
“A large network of tunnels can alleviate congestion in any city; no matter how large a city grows, more levels of tunnels can be added,” the company website reads.
The tunneling company is currently expanding its Vegas loop. Vegas Loop will include LVCC Loop and any future service extensions including resorts along the Strip, Harry Reid International Airport, Allegiant Stadium, and downtown Las Vegas.
Earlier this year, in March, the company said that it has touched one million passengers.
