Biden Takes Aim At GOP's Disapproval Of His Domestic Agenda On Inflation Reduction Act Anniversary: 'They're Dead Wrong'

President Joe Biden commemorated the one-year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act, while criticizing Republican opposition, reports CNN.

Biden expressed his disappointment over Republicans’ refusal to support the measure, despite several former colleagues admitting their agreement with the Act’s principles.

“But the reason they did that was they said ‘Joe, if I vote for X, Y or Z, they're gonna primary and it'll cost me my election.' Not a lot of political courage, but an explanation of why a lot of people believe what we're doing is right, but are just a little worried in this environment,” he said.

The President specifically targeted Republicans who attempted to repeal parts of the Act but still benefited from its provisions. He urged them to join in future initiatives for a cleaner, greener economy.

"All we hear from our friends on the other side of the aisle is what they claim is, what's wrong with America. Let me tell you, let me tell you, they're telling us America's failing? They're dead wrong. They're dead wrong. America isn't failing, America's winning. And I've said a thousand times, a thousand times – there is no quit in America,” Biden added.

He highlighted the law’s promise to reduce carbon pollution by 50% by 2030, invest over $50 billion in climate resilience and save an average of $800 annually on health care premiums under the Affordable Care Act.

Despite efforts to promote the Act, a recent survey revealed that seven out of ten respondents had limited knowledge about it. Biden’s approval ratings remain low, with 75% of Americans describing the economic conditions as poor, according to a recent CNN poll.
