Leaked Memo Reveals Ron DeSantis Advisors Urged Florida Governor To 'Show Emotion' At Upcoming GOP Debate

External advisors asked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to display more emotions in a strategy memo during the upcoming Republican debate, reports Business Insider.

New York Times first reported the existence of the strategy memo where DeSantis is being guided towards creating a viral “Orchestra Pit” moment. This term, coined by the late Fox News CEO Roger Ailes, refers to the potential for dramatic, attention-grabbing incidents during the debate.

The memo, penned by political consulting firm Axiom Strategies, suggests four possible viral moments for DeSantis. These include an emotional display while discussing his family, a confrontation with GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and defending former President Donald Trump from an attack by Chris Christie.

These recommendations follow months of criticism regarding DeSantis’ perceived lack of charisma on the campaign trail. The memo was publicly posted on Axiom’s website for a time, in compliance with federal campaign finance rules that forbid direct communication between the super PAC and DeSantis’ campaign.
