Munich-based Automobili Pininfarina will introduce the world’s first pure-electric, open-top hyper Barchetta at Monterey Car Week.
What Happened: The vehicle, called the B95, is based on the company’s PURA Vision design concept and will start production and delivery in 2025.
Only 10 B95s will be made for collectors worldwide and it will start at EUR 4.4 million ($4.8 million), the company said in a statement. Each of those vehicles will be unique.
However, the starting price of the vehicle is still ahead of the Aspark Owl priced at $4.2 million and will make it one of the most expensive EVs in the world, if not the most.
At the car week, the open-top vehicle will be presented together with the Battista Edizione Nino Farina hyper GT and the PURA Vision design concept.
Talking about the B95, company CEO Paolo Dellachà said, “It is the first of a new kind, an object of desire that introduces the thrill of exceptional, electrified performance in stunning open-top form.”
The body of the unique B95 debuting at the event is in Bronzo Superga which appears gold in the daytime and takes on a bronze hue at night. The aluminum wheels are finished in matt black and the seats are in tan sustainable luxury leather.
It is capable of going from 0 to 60 mph in less than 2 seconds and has a top speed of over 300km/h.
Automobili Pininfarina is a unit of India’s Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.
Italian supercar brand Lamborghini is also expected to reveal its electric vehicle concept model at the event on Friday.
