Donald Trump has scrapped a press conference where he planned to present a report on the alleged Georgia election fraud, reports Politico.
The announcement came just two days after Trump declared his intention to hold the press conference. The plans were revealed following his fourth indictment, a racketeering charge, against him and 18 of his allies by a Fulton County grand jury over alleged efforts to interfere with the 2020 presidential election results in Georgia.
The former president decided instead to submit what he termed as “Irrefutable & Overwhelming evidence of Election Fraud & Irregularities in formal Legal Filings” following his recent indictment by a Georgia grand jury.
Trump’s decision to cancel the press conference follows reports that his legal team and advisors were becoming increasingly apprehensive about the information he publicly shared in light of his mounting legal troubles.
Trump, currently leading in the Republican presidential primary, is facing indictments, including two federal charges related to the 2020 election results and the Capitol riot on Jan. 6.
