Social media platform X's head Elon Musk says there are no great "social networks" anymore.
In a cryptic post on X on Saturday, Musk hinted that the social media platform, formerly known as Twitter, might fail as many had predicted.
The sad truth is that there are no great “social networks” right now.

We may fail, as so many have predicted, but we will try our best to make there be at least one.
The post, which has received more than 41 million views, generated a flood of comments.
"Don’t be downhearted. Look at the list of things you’ve achieved at X," one user replied sarcastically. "Then simply reverse every single one of them. Hire people that know what they’re doing, who worked at places like, say, Twitter (use this name)? Change the logo. Something friendlier, like a little bird. Blue?"
"You're going to have to rethink a few things. You're leading in a circle that is trapping us in a box," another told Musk. "Whatever you did this month reverse it. You're cutting everyone's views down to nothing."
Last week, the billionaire entrepreneur said he would eliminate a safety feature on the platform, explaining that X users would no longer be able to block unwanted comments from followers unless they were direct messages.
Multiple allegations have emerged against X, suggesting the platform intentionally restricted traffic to websites that faced Musk's criticism.
Users reported experiencing reduced loading speeds when accessing content from various websites, including The New York Times, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky, Reuters and Substack.
