Tesla Cybertruck On Iceland's Glaciers Spurs Film Buzz On X.com

After New Zealand, Cybertruck from Tesla Inc TSLA is now apparently on glaciers in Iceland filming videos.

What Happened: As per unverified pictures and videos shared on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, the Cybertruck was accompanied by several other vehicles in the foreign country.

X.com users have predicted that the trip to Iceland might be for a video shoot given the large crew and video production vehicles accompanying the Cybertruck.

“Tesla commercial for the cybertruck?” a user wrote.

“Marketing is ramping up as well!!,” another noted.

Others also chipped in their hopes and ideas for the video. “Hopefully Tesla's ads have some b-roll of the Cybertruck floating!” a user wrote.

Why It Matters: At Tesla’s annual shareholder meeting in May, CEO Elon Musk confirmed that the Cybertruck delivery event is scheduled for later this year. While deliveries will commence this year, high-volume production will happen next year, Musk said during the company’s second-quarter earnings call last month.

The videos and pictures have raised anticipation for the vehicle whose delivery date has not been announced yet. “This must mean we are close,” a user wrote.

Last month, photos emerged on social media showing the Cybertruck undergoing winter testing at the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds (SHPG) in New Zealand. This automotive proving ground provides winter testing opportunities from June to September, which coincides with the summer season in the U.S.
