Jenna Ellis, an attorney aligned with former President Donald Trump, has publicly questioned why MAGA, a super PAC, isn’t funding her defense in the former president’s Georgia 2020 election interference trial.
Ellis, one of the 18 co-defendants in the case, voiced her concerns via a post on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, The Hill reported.
Ellis faces charges of racketeering and socializing a public officer to violate their oath, linked to her involvement in Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results. Earlier this year, she received a public censure for making false statements about the 2020 presidential election.

Ellis’ inquiry came in response to a post by Matt Schlapp, chairman of the American Conservative Union, suggesting unity behind a nominee could lead to funding for the defense of all indicted Trump Republicans.
Former President Trump, who has expressed intentions to return to the White House in the upcoming year, has drawn attention for using campaign funds to pay legal fees. Recent campaign finance filings reveal nearly $54 million raised in the first half of 2023, with around $25 million spent on legal fees.
